Nach uns die Sintflut (after us the deluge)

For these works Stacker photographed plastic bags to comment on the plastic waste in our environment. She imagined a world where only plastic is left, shaped into formations reminiscent of landscapes, glowing from within. A version of ‘Plastic Scape in Red’ was shown at the group exhibition Ferret at Articulate Project Space, Sydney in February 2018 with the title Nach uns…

“In Anke Stacker’s Nach Uns 2017-2018 which google translates as ‘after us’ in German, the work itself provides a sense of zones of uncertainty, presenting an image of what appears to be a visceral interior space but is in fact a digital image of plastic on plastic.”

Isobel Johnson, quoted from the article ‘A long review of a short show with a lot of artists in it’.
